The
Appraisal Foundation, the
national organization authorized by
Congress to set standards and
qualifications for real property
appraisers, has issued new
requirements for persons
interested in becoming appraisers.
These new standards affect all
states, including Pennsylvania.
In brief, the new requirements
demand more education, including
college-level courses and degrees,
and more experience than previously
needed. The
Foundation's executive summary of
its new requirements can be found
here as an Adobe Acrobat PDF
document.
The new requirements took effect Jan.
1, 2008.
