Get A Real Estate Broker's License

It's the best designation you can have.

Becoming a Pennsylvania-licensed real estate broker is the ultimate step up in the state's real estate industry. Brokers can run their own businesses, and seek out other licensees to assist them. In most operations, the broker is the boss.

In Pennsylvania, only real estate brokers-of-record or real estate brokers who are sole proprietors are authorized under law to handle real estate transactions. Sales licensees (agents) and broker licensees (associate brokers) affiliated with a broker-of-record or sole proprietor work on behalf of, and are legally supervised by, those brokers.

To become a broker takes time (at least three years in real estate), 240 hours of special courses, and the ability to successfully pass a rigorous exam. But almost every broker you talk to says it's worth the effort.
