About the Course
As Pennsylvania and much of the country enjoys increased activity for both buyers and sellers, real estate licensees also must increase their awareness of the potential physical dangers of their business. No one likes to dwell on the potential for being a victim of crime. Yet a growing body of statistical evidence shows that because licensees often work alone, frequently work with strangers, and occasionally find themselves in unfamiliar locations, their chances of becoming crime victims are rising.
“Better Safe” examines ways in which licensees can protect themselves from crime and the criminal behaviors of others. It also offers tips on ensuring clients and their properties are protected from malicious intent.
“Better Safe” was first presented by Polley Associates during the 2000-2002 license renewal cycle
as part of a 7-hour course titled “Diversity and Safety Benefits for Consumers and Licensees.” This
newest version has been significantly modified, updated and re-titled to incorporate new court documents, authoritative industry research, and recent news events and writings.
This is a half-day course. It fulfills 3-1/2 hours of the 14 hours of mandatory continuing education (MCE) required by the Pennsylvania State Real Estate Commission for salesperson's or broker's license renewal in the 2002-2004 renewal period.
