Polley Courses: ‘Standard Agreement of Sales Forms’

Avoid Illegal Practices While Professionally Serving Clients And Customers

Standard real estate contract and agreement forms created by the Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS® (PAR) are valuable because they assist licensees in avoiding illegal practices of law while professionally serving clients and customers. These forms have changed and evolved since their introduction, so with this course licensees have an opportunity to become familiar with the most recent versions.

Participants will be shown how to reduce liability for both their clients and themselves by avoiding the temptation to “wing it;” that is, adding unapproved language to standard forms to meet a specific need or problem. Agents sometimes write their own clauses into a contract because they are unaware that language they need is contained in an unfamiliar or little-used PAR form.

These time-tested and legally vetted forms, when implemented properly, help reduce liability and can protect agents’ commissions in difficult or sensitive procuring cause situations.
